We make democracy an everyday, tangible, and shapeable experience again – not with slogans, but with formats that make exchange and participation accessible – low-threshold, replicable, effective. Always with the question: What motivates people to act?
We turn 84 million opinions into one society.
A society that shapes change instead of suffering it. That looks forward to the future instead of fearing it. And that turns many into a 'we' because it finds its strength in its differences.
We want a country where negotiation is part of everyday life – where conflict is only the beginning of a conversation, not the end. Where schools, city halls, and libraries show: Your voice counts here, we share responsibility here.

KI wird oft als Gefahr für die Demokratie gesehen. Doch sie birgt auch Chancen für eine neue, viel direktere und schnellere Form der Demokratie. In der Session schauen wir uns an, welche Möglichkeiten es gibt – und wir stellen erste Lösungen vor, etwa eine Beteiligungs-KI, die Beteiligungsprozesse designt und die Zielgruppenkommunikation von Kommunen verbessert.

Artificial intelligence can support participatory processes throughout their entire lifecycle — from project setup to citizen contributions and final evaluation. In this workshop Offene Gesellschaft and Wer Denkt Was will interactively demo their AI toolboxes that can support cities in planning and structuring citizen participation processes from the initial idea to full implementation, and provide an efficient system for capturing, clustering, analyzing, and visualizing citizen contributions from participation processes.

Vom 23.–26. September treffen sich Demokratieakteur*innen aus Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz bei Mitmacht 2026 x reCampaign in Berlin. Kurz nach den Wahlen in Sachsen-Anhalt, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern und Berlin ist Mitmacht der Ort, an dem wir alle zusammenkommen. Gemeinsam schaffen wir Handlungsmacht und finden neue kollektive Strategien und Ideen zur Stärkung unserer Demokratie. Denn was es jetzt braucht, ist Kooperation und Zusammenhalt!

Was bedeutet Heimat – für dich, für uns, für Deutschland? Im Oktober 2026 starten wir ein Experiment: Rund 50 Gesprächsrunden im ganzen Land sprechen über Heimat. Alle Gespräche werden anonym ausgewertet und ein Gesamtbild ergibt sich.

Tag der Offenen Gesellschaft Treffpunkt Offline
Jährlich stellen Menschen bundesweit "Tische und Stühle raus" und senden ein ermutigendes Signal für eine offene, demokratische Gesellschaft. Ein ganzes Land tischt auf und lädt ein.
